
Salam Pagi Ahad semua, hidangan pulut kuning ini Nur buat waktu cuti CNY yang lalu....dah beberapa tahun tak pernah buat pulut kuning ni....Kalau Nur tak berapa suka sangat tapi suami Nur suka sekali.....ok lah tak dapat nak bercerita panjang sebab ada kerja yang harus dibuat...kejap lagi budak-budak Lasalle datang nak buat projek bertambah-tambah kerja Nur....pening kepala...rumah aku juga yang sentiasa jadi pilihan mereka...ish budak-budak ni!
Pulut Kuning

Ingredients

500 gm glutinous rice washed
2 pieces of dried tamarind
2 tbsp turmeric powder - mix with water
Enough water to soak glutinous rice
2 cups thick coconut milk
salt to taste
2 pieces of dried tamarind

Method

1. Soak glutinous rice with water, dried tamarind and turmeric powder.
2. Soak for few hours or overnight to get the fragrant and yellow color.
Once in a while stir the glutinous rice.
3. Prepare a steamer. Heat the steamer. Drain the rice and discard dried tamarind. Add in water, just enough to cover the top of the rice.
4. Steam until the rice is cooked.
5. Add in salt into the thick coconut milk and mix well. Once the rice is cooked pour the thick coconut milk onto the rice. Continue to steam until the rice is cook

Dried Mutton

1 kg mutton
2 tbsp jintan manis
1 thumb size piece of ginger
8-10 clove garlic
1 big onion
5 tbsp oil
1 stick kayu manis (cinnomon)
1 sprig curry leaves
2 tbsp chili powder
2 cups water
1 grated cocounut- squeeze out 1 cup thick coconut milk
salt to taste
Method

1. Wash and cut mutton into cubes. Drain.
2. Blend individually jintan manis, ginger, garlic. Cut onion into slices.
3. Heat oil in pan, put in kayu manis, curry leaves, chilli powder and blended ingredients. Fry till fragrant, add in mutton cubes. Stir fry for ten minutes.
4. Add in water and simmer for 30-40 minutes over low heat. Add in coconut
milk and salt. Cook until almost dry.

ReplyDeleteTengok gambar pulut kuning tu buat kakchik teringatkan majlis khatam Qur'an atau akikah je.
W/pun kakchik tak suka sangat makan pulut, tapi kalau presentationnya menarik macam yang Nur buat tu, rasanya separuh boleh habis kot.

sedapnyerrr!!!!!!!!!!!...pulut kunin ni kaknur..mmg paberet my doters...dua2 tu, mmg giler pulut...msk sekilo, bleh dorg jer bedal....tp mesti nak ngan kari...x kira ler, kari ayam ker telur ker....kita lak dah penin kalo mkn pulut nih...hahhaha...
